The 28th annual Symposium on Telescope Science was held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday May 19th, 20th & 21st, 2009. This years symposium was a joint meeting of the Society for Astronomical Sciences (SAS) and American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO). Workshops on Data Mining and Photometry were presented along with the symposium. These workshops were designed to help beginners get started and the advanced astronomer gain insights on techniques and some of the popular software tools used in research programs.

The keynote address was presented by Dr. John Percy. You can read his address here!

The 2009 Symposium was deemed a great success by the attendees. The SAS committee has already begun work on the 2010 Symposium on Telescope Science.
The SAS is a membership organization. Annual dues are $25. You can become a member by going to our Membership Page.
